Justin has always loved animals — and noticed early on that dogs were just as drawn to him. With 7 years of professional training experience, he lives for the moment a dog and its owner finally click as a team. His favorite part of the job is building confidence and discipline in both the dog and the handler, while keeping it fun.

His formula for fast, lasting results: a good mix of patience, persistence, structure, and love. An Auburn University alum, Justin enjoys football, basketball, and tennis, beach days, and a good book or movie — when his board-and-train and classroom dogs give him a minute!

Born and raised in Birmingham, Ashton spent 7–8 years in the veterinary field — from reception to kennel — before that hands-on experience sparked his passion for training. Now 4 years into his OLK9 career, he loves the freedom, the people, and getting to use the great outdoors as his workspace.

His philosophy is simple: “every dog is a good dog.” As long as the humans do their part, any dog can succeed. A firm believer in the e-collar as a humane, effective tool when used correctly, Ashton is most passionate about helping families keep the dogs they love. Off the clock, he's married to his wife Jessi and shares a home with their Border Collie, Ollie, and two cats, Sophie and Kato.
