Why two owners get two different quotes

The table above is the price list. What it cannot show is why your quote may land at a different point on it than your neighbour's. Four things move the number, and they are worth understanding before you compare us to anyone else.

1. What your dog is doing now, not what breed they are

Price follows behaviour, not breed. A Labrador that pulls on the leash and a Labrador with a bite history are not the same job. Obedience work is a teaching problem and is priced as one. Aggression and reactivity are rehabilitation, require an in-person evaluation first, and start at $1,100 because they take more trainer hours, more controlled exposure, and a slower, safer progression.

2. How fast you need it

The same result costs different amounts depending on the timeline. A 2-Week Board & Train at $2,900 compresses the work into fourteen days of professional handling. Four weeks of private Basic Obedience at $650 gets you to a comparable foundation, but the work is spread across lessons and the practice between them is yours to do.

3. Who does the practice between sessions

This is the honest difference between our cheapest and our most expensive programs. In private lessons, you are the trainer six days a week and we coach you on the seventh. In board and train, we do all seven. Owners who travel, work long shifts, or have tried and stalled on their own usually find board and train cheaper in the end, because the alternative is paying twice.

4. Where the training happens

In-home training from $850 for four weeks costs more than the equivalent facility-based obedience at $650, because the trainer travels and works in one environment. It buys something specific: the problems that only happen in your house — door rushing, counter surfing, guarding a sofa — get solved in the room where they happen.

Board & Train versus private lessons: the real comparison

Most people arrive comparing the two headline numbers, $2,900 against $650. That comparison is not like for like, because the programs differ in length, in who does the work, and in how quickly you get your result.

What the price includes, and what it does not

Every program on this page includes the same core items, which is why there is no equipment line or admin fee on your invoice:

• Your dog's e-collar and training leash — yours to keep, fitted and introduced properly during the program.
• A one-on-one family turnover session — you are taught every command before your dog goes home. Board and train includes a two-hour session.
• Lifetime phone and email support with your trainer, for the life of the dog.
• Daily photo and video updates during board and train, so you see the work as it happens.

What is not included: boarding outside a training program, veterinary care, and any later move into advanced, therapy or service-dog work, which is quoted separately. There is no deposit-forfeiture clause and no per-command upcharge.

Paying for it

Affirm financing is available on every program, which splits the cost into monthly payments and is the route most board-and-train clients take. You can apply at checkout or in person. We also accept all major credit and debit cards and bank transfer.

A 5% discount applies to active military, veterans, police officers, firefighters and EMS. Mention it when you book and bring verification to the first session. The Basic + Advanced Obedience combo saves $50 against buying the two separately.
