He was very reactive to other dogs and had been in fights before that reinforced his fear. Kendall was his trainer and she did an excellent job. His obedience was on point and his reactivity was much improved. He was overall a calmer dog after his board and train. The 2 week anxiety board and train with Kendall worked wonders with my dog! I am already somewhat knowledgeable about training as I have 2 other dogs who are moderately well trained, but my standard poodle has always had BAD anxiety around new people and new environments. The training methods that I used with my other dogs did not work with him because he was so anxious. He would bark and pace around when people who were unfamiliar to him came to our house. He would often freeze in public out of fear, and I wouldn’t know what to do to make him comfortable/obedient in these scenarios. Kendall worked with him to build his confidence and show him that the world is not a scary place. He still has a long way to go since anxiety cannot be overcome within 2 weeks, but we have a great start now that he isn’t as scared of everything. I also love that we can reach out to the trainer at any time after the board and train program to ask questions, send videos, and ask for more tips on training improvement. We can just not say enough good things about Justin and our experience with our board and train for our two-year-old, very timid and shy German Shepherd! Her transformation has been remarkable and it just blows everyone away how much she has changed for the better… Our home is less chaotic. She’s following all her commands. The issues we were having with our big girl were leash pulling, jumping, rushing the front door when anyone came to the door and just not knowing how to rein in her big puppy energy. I have had three European Dobermans that had never been sent off to be trained and of course by not doing that it just made it harder on me. So when I decided to get another Doberman, I wanted to do things the right way. My Doberman Ragnarok is five months old and he was pulling me around, jumping on things, basically all over the place and not listening. Walter had regular private positive reinforcement training before coming to Off Leash K9 Training, Pelham. He is a 12 month old standard poodle on track to become a therapy dog, but needed to tighten up his response time with basic obedience. Justin provided #3, 1-hour private lessons before starting the 2-week board & train program with Kendal. Justin really cares about people and their pets. He listened, understood and demonstrated with training what Walter would need for best success using the Off Leash methodology. I recommend considering the PRE board & train lessons in addition to their 2-week board & train program. This allowed Walter and I to gain confidence using the e collar and work together with both trainer's to customize the best Off Leash training experience for Walter. In addition, Kendal went above and beyond during Walter's 2-week board & train. Not only did Kendal need to brush and style Walter's show haircut 2x's per day to avoid tangled hair, but she took him to his groomer for a 2-hour bath and brush after the first week of training without hesitation. Kendal integrated positive reinforcement techniques with the e collar training method and the end result exceeded my expectation. Walter is more attentive and responds quickly to basic commands, and sleeps in his house crate at night without incident. The time away from me, as his primary handler, allowed Walter to gain advanced level independence and confidence. I believe Walter will pass his AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation in 2 weeks because of Justin and Kendal's combined efforts. Walter has already started working with select clients in senior independent living facilities for a company called Your Choice Senior Care.
